9th March – My Generation @ Mood Bar – Disco Down Residents and Special Guests play indie anthems old and new in a big room, with flashing lights and ridiculously cheap drinks
12th March – Disco Down @ Northumbria University…. Its our First Birthday and its gonna be a good one! Half price entry for girls and Student union prices all night!!
13th March – The Dog Whisperer @ the Arena – the best musical event on at the arena this month (Xfactor and GaGaGaGa) Check out Cesar Milian and his dog powers while you recover from Disco Down
15th March – The Editors @ o2 Academy – People offer you things you should know by now!

20th March – The Smiths Indeed @ o2 Academy – Smiths Tribute band play covers… of Smiths Songs. This may include entry to Bulletproof afterward where you can dance to Scouting for Girls… or not!
21st March – Ambershift @ Tyne Bar, Check out the ‘Norths Next Big Thing’? With a debut album out later in the year things are looking promising for the Durham lads!

25th March – English Garden @ Dog and Parrot – The coastal 5 peice headline their first Gig… well worth checking out !!
27th March – The Blockheads & Boomtown Rats @ Dunston Fed. Local lads The Kush support some living legends at the former home of Broon Ale!!!

Witter and Co hit the Festival Trail!

Shed Seven have been Confirmed for this Years Festival, the York based Britpop legends will be playing the T4 Stage at the Staffordshire and Clemsford based Bash along with other Disco Down favorites Paul Weller, The Editors and The Ster
eophonics. Check out the Line Up so Far here
Tickets go on Sale this friday from the usual outlets and will cost a small fortune plus booking fee!
But if you can’t wait till then to hear all the classics like On Standby, The Changingman, Bullets and More Life than a Tramps Vest get yourself down to Disco Down @ Northumbria Uni on Friday 12th March. Chasing Rainbows!!!

Advance tickets are available from behind the front desk at Northumbria University Students Union, giving you £1 off the on the door price. Not only that but if you are off to the Toon game and show your match ticket or season ticket to the door staff we will give you a quid off on the door.
Dont forget you get Student Union drink prices all night, so thats £1.40 a pint and £2.50 doubles… we can all drink like Rock n Roll Stars now.

Disco Down @ Reds Bar
Posted by admin | 06 / 02 / 2010 - 1:19amThe most “Mad For It” night in Newcastle is coming to Reds Bar @ Northumbria University this December. Disco Down is sure to please the Mod, Rocker, Liam or Jarvis in you with its monthly dose of Retro Indie, Britpop and Mod Classics.
Keeping its infamous First Friday of the Month slot from its previous home the Red Rooms, it remains an essential date in the diary any self respecting, parka wearing Northern Soul!
You can drink like a Rock Star with the Student Union drink prices and on top of all that each month will see some of the hottest up and coming regional and national bands playing a live set.
